A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg on the opening day of the deer rifle season in Marshall County, Minnesota. According to a release by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call on November 8 that a 25-year-old man had been shot in the thigh while hunting near Florian Slough. The caller stated that the man was alert and conscious, and the bleeding was under control. Two brothers were hunting and took a break, laying their guns in the back seat of the vehicle. They put all their hunting gear on top of the guns. When they removed the gear from the vehicle, the gun went off and shot the man through the upper thigh. The Minnesota DNR, Karlstad Ambulance, and Newfolden Rescue responded to the scene. The man was taken by ambulance to Sanford in Thief River Falls.
