A 24-year-old Detroit Lakes man has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor in connection with an alleged assault that occurred in January 2022.Jonathan Dale Eifealdt was charged September 22 in Becker County District Court with criminal sexual conduct in the third degree. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison or a $30,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, an investigator Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report on June 4, 2025, of a past sexual assault. The victim, now 18, told investigators that Eifealdt sexually assaulted her when she was 14 years old. The victim told the investigators Eifealdt came to her residence to console her about an argument that had taken place in the house. She reported that Eifealdt sexually assaulted her despite her resistance. She also said that she lost consciousness during the assault and that Eifealdt was gone when she woke back The victim reported having bruises on her legs and arms following the alleged assault. Court documents show Eifealdt is 78 months older than the victim. Eifeldt has another hearing scheduled for this case on December 1.
