The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says a A 65-year-old Bemidji man was hit and killed by a vehicle Sunday night in Grant Valley Township. It happened just before 10:45 p.m. on Division Street NW, west of Bemidji. Officials say Floyd Cloud was hit, and life saving measures were attempted, but he died on scene. Officials say the driver, 56 year-old Robert Ortez of Bemidji stayed on scene, and was cooperative with law enforcement. The sheriff’s office said there did not appear to be any signs of impairment. The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with crash reconstruction. Officials say the investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
